Community Dental Care Announces Grand Opening of New Maplewood Facility with Ribbon-Cutting Celebration
The nonprofit grows to serve more patients in critical need of dental care
MAPLEWOOD, Minn., July 21, 2025 – Community Dental Care, one of Minnesota’s largest nonprofit dental care providers, is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 25 to celebrate the opening of its new Carlton Street clinic in Maplewood. The expansion coincides with the organization’s 20th anniversary. This state-of-the-art clinic will significantly increase access to dental care for people of all ages on public programs and the uninsured.
The event will run from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at 600 Carlton Street North, Maplewood, MN 55119. The program will feature remarks from Community Dental Care leaders, Karen Kleinhans, CEO and Cedric Long, Board Chair, as well as elected officials Representative Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaegar and Maplewood Mayor Marylee Abrams.
The 32,000-square-foot clinic will expand comprehensive dental care through key improvements:
40 dental operatories to serve patients of all ages, including three dental operatories designed for sedation dentistry, providing specialized care for children with special needs and those requiring extensive and complex treatment.
New imaging technology expands the range of care for more complex cases to be treated in-house and decreases patient wait times for care.
Expanded preventive education and services programs for children and pregnant mothers.
“Opening this location allows us to expand access to comprehensive care for children and adults across the Twin Cities metro," said Community Dental Care CEO Karen Flanagan Kleinhans. "Thanks to the generous support from foundations, businesses, and individuals, we can expand on our mission and serve thousands more patients at this new clinic.”
Community donations are being accepted to help continue fundraising efforts as the grand opening approaches. To donate to Community Dental Care, visit cdentc.org/donate.
The clinic will create an additional 40 local jobs for dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff— providing not only immediate employment opportunities but also long-term economic benefits and career growth in the community.
