Medical-Dental Integration

Community Dental Care collaborates directly with M Health Fairview’s Roselawn Clinic to deliver oral health services on site in conjunction with well-child visits. Community Dental Care’s collaborative practice dental hygienist meets with children and family members before or after the children’s well-child visit to educate parents about infant/toddler oral health, provide anticipatory guidance, and encourage adoption of healthy hygiene and nutrition habits for their young children. The collaborative practice dental hygienist provides a dental screening and toothbrush cleaning, fluoride varnish, and referrals for children with active decay or dental concerns. Families will also be encouraged and assisted to establish a dental home. A multilingual health educator provides health education and referral services to patients who need additional language assistance.
