Would you like to learn how your child can become a cavity free kid?
The Minnesota Cavity Free Kids Program is designed especially for children ages 0-2 years old!
All children begin life cavity free. And yet, tooth decay (cavities) is one of the most common chronic conditions of childhood in the United States. Fortunately, it is also the most preventable. Dr. Vacharee Peterson, former Chief Executive Officer of Community Dental Care, has made it her lifelong mission to deliver children to school as cavity free kids. “It is our mission to be able to teach every single child born, that brushing your teeth will keep you healthy and will allow you to keep your teeth for a lifetime. Parents need to brush their baby’s teeth two times a day, 365 days a year because teeth are like dirty dishes— you need to wash them after each use,” said Dr. Peterson on the importance of early dental disease prevention. The Minnesota Cavity Free Kids Program is especially designed to serve the most vulnerable population: infants and toddlers. The goals of the Minnesota Cavity Free Kids Program are that all children will have access to preventive oral health care, recognize the importance of oral health, adopt healthy habits that support it, and grow up cavity free.
